Record of Distribution of Releif Aids

Nepal Educational Support Trust (NEST) distributed relief aids to the victims of flood & land slides of Hatiya VDC of Makawanpur District on 1st August 2004 at the premises of Nepal Red Cross Society Makawanpur Branch. Mr Suryachandra Neupane, President of Nepal Redcross Society of Makawanpur district was the chief guest and Mr Purna Kumar Shrestha chaired the program .Mr Neupane expressed the necessities of humanitarian aids at the time of natural disaster such as flood and land slides and thanked NEST family for their initiative to provide relief aids to families of flood victims. Mr Purna kumar Shrtestha Executive Director of NEST highlighted how collection program was organized in Kathmandu as well as expressed sincere thanks to all donors & contributors. At the time of distribution NEST provided each family with one 15x18 plastic tarpaulin tent, one set of cooking utensils, one plastic bucket and one mug, one sack of rice of 20 kg , one kg dal and one packet of salt along with clothes. In total 30 families were benefited from the program. NEST collected 32537 rupees from various donors (80 persons and orgnisations. Each family received the relief aids which worth NRs 1154.50 .

What did a family receive with your donation ?



A family received the following items from NEST:

Plastic bucket (26 ltr) and a mug

noodles
Beside clothes and kind donations , we collected 33000 . Each family recived the relief aids which worth NRs 1190.oo

We are very pleased to inform all friends of NEST ,who donated in kind and cash and helped our initiative, that relief aids we collected last week, were distributed to 30 families of Hatiya VDC, Makwanpur at Red Cross Scoiety , Makwanpur Office in Hetauda on 1 August 2004.

In the programme, jouranlists, representatives of political parities and Red Cross were present.
We are soon going to put the details of income and expenditure , family profiles and some photos and vedio clips on this site . Dont forget to visit this site soon. The Kantipur daily has published the news of the programme in page no. 13 ( 2nd August, 2004). Local newspaper and FM station had also covered the news.

Once again, thank you very much for your generous support and we look forward to similar support from you in the future. With your support we can reach more families and give hope to many children.

Moksha Helps to Raise Donations for Flood Victims

Mr. Purna Kumar Shrestha and Mr. Vijay Khadgi, NEST volunteers, visited the Moksha at Hardik Club in Pulchok. NEST is grateful to Moksha for letting us to announce the fundraising campaign during their live music show.
Threebands playedlive music at the restaurant. At the end of the Full Circle's performance, Purna made a short presentation on the initiative and requestedtheaudience to donate some moneyto NEST to assist the flood victims in Makwanpur district. NEST likes to thank the following people for their contributions. In total, NEST raised 2,875.
