Damian, fromer NEST volunteer who worked at Prajwal School as a volunteer in 2006 visited Prajwal School with his friend last week. He donated NRs 6000 to support the NEST basketball club set up by Prajwal School to offer sport opportunities to local youths in the evening. The basket ball court was built with the donation from Sandra and Luis through ICFON, the Netherlands. 22 youths are having basket ball training in Chaughada.

Everest of Apples pledges NRS 430,240 to support Prajwal School After the visit of Melaine and Chris, Coordinator and member of Everest of Apples three months ago, Everest of Apples committee reviewed its partnership with NEST to further stregthen its support to Prajwal School.
EoA has committed to donate NRs. 430240 in the year 2008-2009 which will be spent on the the following projects:
Improved water supply (approximately NPR 10,000)
2) Electrical wiring in 8 classrooms (approximately NPR 75,816)3)
3)Plastering and painting of school and toilet block and miscellaneous repair and maintenance (approximately NPR 172,860).
4) Professional Development budget (approximately NPR 30,000)
5) First Aid mentioned in the income and expenditure sheet sent from the school (approximately NPR 5,000)
6) Scholarships (approximately NPR 136,564)

Mahesh Pathak bags the second position in National Story writing competition
Mahesh Pathak, a seven grade student of Prajwal School, a non profit making school managed by NEST, bagged NRs. 10000 by securing the second position in the national story writing competition organised by Tempus International, Canada and Read Nepal. Mahesh received 5000 at the prize distribution programme and the second installment of the prize NRs 5000 will be sent to him through NEST once he submits a report to Tempus and READ.
NGO-PUN, Korea and NEST are going to organise a Student programme . Students from South Korea will spend three days with the children from the Prajwal School.

NEST READING CAMPAIGN 2007
In association of Room to Read, NEST is organising street reading campaign programme on 8th September 2007 to celebrate international literacy day.
There will be book stalls at Hetauda and different story writing, reading for fun activities will be organised. There will be a lot of prizes for the readers. Come and visit Reading stalls .
NEST Summer Camp for Children NEST is organising a week long summer camp for student during the summer vacation. A local theatre group will run theatre for development course, A. Lin, an JET from Japan will come to facilitate the workshop. There will be story writing, creative writing and peace building activities.
